“Dad and son nearly drowns after slipping into canal”

On Friday night my dad and 11 year old brother were going to the Pirifino Chicken place on The Waterfront, Walsall. They walked straight into the canal which was full of green algae therefore this was disguised as a grass bank as it was pitch black. They both fought endlessly for 5/10 minutes constantly drowning before they both managed to make it out of the water. They were both so lucky that they managed to make it out alive. The next person may not be so lucky. Please be very careful and aware when walking around this area.
